Aboriginal Day Celebration on the Boardwalk, Market Square, Saint John’s Festival Place Come celebrate the culture of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) First Nation.
Alan Polchies Jr. from Sitansisk First Nation (St. Mary’s) will share traditions and stories with you, as well as present guest drummers (Na-goo-cook) from Tobique First Nation, along with Maliseet singers and dancers who will entertain you with traditional drumming and song. Gina Brooks from St. Mary’s will offer a sweetgrass blessing to begin the evening. Join us at 6:45 on the Boardwalk.
Enjoy free admission at the New Brunswick Museum until 9pm.
