Event Description
Sunday September 18th, 2pm-4pm: Attend the opening of a new exhibit featuring the artwork of local artist Suzanne Goyetche. The event will take place at the Cooling Rack Gallery inside SudsMuffin, 160 Union Street in Uptown Saint John. Original paintings will be available for viewing and purchase. Suzanne will also be there to chat and talk about her work.
The exhibit will run from September 17th until October 8th. Visit anytime Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm.
EXTRA: We will be hosting a Coffee Break fundraiser on behalf of the Alzheimer Society where you can donate change for a coffee, plus Suzanne has committed 10% of her Sept 18th sales will be donated to the Society. Come in and support this important cause.
Artist bio:
Suzanne Goyetche was born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. Growing up with the splendor of the sea and the Lahave River all around her, she always wanted to paint. With her beginnings as a self taught person, she started with pencil. It was not until 1995 that she took classes in oil painting from Theresa Nickerson. She fell in love with painting.
Suzanne moved on to acrylics the following spring and attended workshops by Shirley Scott, Kim Horgan, Sherry Finch, Herzl Kashetsky, Les Rolston and Graham Baker, a Nova Scotia marine artist. Suzanne enjoys doing landscapes and pets. The artist now paints with heat set oils and archival paint that allows her to dry the painting when she wants to and use it as regular oil texture, impasto or even thinned to take on the look of watercolour.
Suzanne has sold paintings throughout the Maritimes, Ontario and several US states. Although she has a love for landscapes and portraits of old houses, her real passion is in her pet portraits.
