Artist bio:
I have been dabbling in paint since 1979. At that time, I met Carmen Dubrûle-Mahaux who had moved in Saint John from Gatineau, Qué. She was a great instructor-teacher and an artist. The day we met, we became instant friends. She was instrumental in getting me started in the wonderful world of visual arts, crafts and painting.
I started first, with watercolor and took some drawing and art classes here and there. Ray Butler’s class influenced me to add more depth by adding lots of shades. Shirley Scott introduced me to paint in acrylics.
I paint mostly in acrylic now. I am intrigued in working with encaustic which is an old art form done with hot wax. I love all medium and I intend to do oil painting next. After watching Luc Dugas, an artist from Caraquet who paints magnificently, using the air brush technique, I want to explore this area as well.
I would love to see you at my exhibit's opening night at the Cooling Rack.
