New Brunswick was created out of the western portion of Nova Scotia in 1784 as a result of the American War of Independence. Many had opposed rebellion. More than 500,000 of these Tories or Loyalists existed at one time or another but most chose to remain part of American society. For others, at least 60,000, exile was the only alternative. Fossil Hunter: Will Matthew and the Giant Trilobite exhibition at the New Brunswick Museum at New Brunswick Museum, 1 Market Square, Saint John, NB, E2L4Z6

Fossil Hunter is an interactive exhibit developed by the New Brunswick Museum. Based on a true story of New Brunswick geologist, Will Matthew, it recounts the true story of a curious young teenage boy, the son of noted fossil expert George Matthew.  Will discovered the largest trilobite fossil in the world, over 100 years ago in Saint John.
