The longest family-owned retail business in the city, “Hayward and Warwick Ltd.” is celebrating its 155th anniversary this year at 85 Princess Street in Uptown Saint John.
A very special event took place on Wednesday, June 23 when Michael Doulton, a fifth generation member of the Royal Doulton family, was on hand from 12-4 p.m. to sign figurines purchased at this that time.
“Hayward and Warwick has been associated with Royal Doulton for many years. This is a unique and rare opportunity to purchase exclusive event figurines and we’re very pleased to have Michael Doulton with us. He has built a name around the world and knows a lot about these products,” Mark notes.
He adds that, in conjunction with their 155th anniversary, until the end of June, with a $25 purchase they are giving away a Haywards bone china mug valued at $9.99. And on Saturday, July 17, Hayward and Warwick will also hold its annual ‘Garage Sale’.
“This is a popular event for our customers as well. We take this opportunity to clear out stock to make way for new,” he explains.
