INTRODUCTION TO ART HISTORY WITH SARAH JONES

Back by popular request - Sarah Jones will lead a lively discussion as the artist presents an
introductory course in visual culture surveys four major periods in the history of art: Renaissance, Baroque, Early Modern and Modern. Sarah Jones, MA Art History (Queen’s University) leads fun, interactive discussion beginning with Italian art and architecture of the 15th to the 17th century, with special focus on Renaissance masters Michelangelo and Raphael and Baroque artists Caravaggio and Bernini. The course concludes with the major movements in Modern Art as seen through the work of David, Manet, Monet and Picasso. Every class is fully illustrated with both artwork images and Sarah’s own photographs from her studies in Italy.
