Event Description

Introduction to Freehand Batik

This is your opportunity to learn about an Asian form of painting with wax and dye.  You will get to see some samples of Batik and learn more about this age old technique that allows for great versatility and style when using special tools and techniques to produce a dyed textile design.

You will practice drawing and painting with wax and dye before you start your design. It's exciting to have choices about using line, shape, colour and texture as layers and to see the effects appear before your eyes.  Join art educator Terena Starkey for this fun one-day workshop!
