Sea Belles, a ladies a cappella chorus, will soon begin their regular Tuesday evening practices, starting September 10, 2013 at 7pm at Forest Hills Elementary School. Women of any age who love to sing and can carry a tune, are invited to come and share the FUN of a cappella harmony! New members are always welcome, but we'd especially like to meet you at one of our September Tuesday rehearsals. But please let us know you're coming by contacting Vangie at 633-1811.  We're just “Ordinary Women making Extraordinary music!” and we want YOU to share your voice with Sea Belles Chorus! More info on chorus at www.seabelles.ca or facebook page.

I agree completely! Moncton may be the hub, but Saint John is far more advanced (I think) technologically and much more social. We bring part of the world into our harbour every summer and are just an hour and a half from the US border. I think it's just a matter of time, the need is there, the potential is there and now thanks to proud Saint Johners who will work hard to make it happen, I think we can put Saint John back on the map, in a way it hasn't been since it's shipbuilding glory days.

1812: The New Brunswick Story - exhibition at the New Brunswick Museum at New Brunswick Museum, 1 Market Square, Saint John, NB, E2L4Z6

October 29, 2014 at 9am to January 4, 2015 at 5pm
Until January 4, 2015: 1812: The New Brunswick Story exhibition at the New Brunswick Museum. On June 18, 1812 the United States declared war on Britain and placed His Majesty’s colonies in British North America (now Canada) in peril. Already fighting a life and death struggle with Napoleon, Britain had no desire for a conflict on two fronts. The United States, on the other hand, felt their young independence threatened by a British embargo on American trade with France, the seizure of British…See More

The Lost War: 1776-1783 - exhibition at the New Brunswick Museum at New Brunswick Museum, 1 Market Square, Saint John, NB, E2L4Z6

October 29, 2014 at 9am to January 4, 2015 at 5pm
Until January 4, 2015: The Lost War: 1776-1783 exhibition at the New Brunswick Museum. New Brunswick was created out of the western portion of Nova Scotia in 1784 as a result of the American War of Independence. Many had opposed rebellion. More than 500,000 of these Tories or Loyalists existed at one time or another but most chose to remain part of American society. For others, at least 60,000, exile was the only alternative. In 1783, over 30,000 boarded vessels in New York for Nova Scotia and…See More

September 11, 2014 – January 4, 2015. New Brunswick artist Carol Taylor continues her exploration of the interaction between geological processes and human presence. The exhibition is the further development of artistic concepts first shown at the NBM in 2011. In the original exhibition, Carol Taylor conceived of Future Fossils as artworks that considered the continuum of geological processes in combination with vestiges of human presence. An aspect of her inquiry was inspired by a group of…See More
