June 18, 2015 from 7pm to 9pm
Don and Ruth Lesbirel proudly present the life and times of Phebe Robertson Keiffer. Keiffer grew up on a small farm in rural New Brunswick in the early 1870s, but would go on to live in California, Chicago, New Zealand and Arizona, travelling solo half way around the world, earning a Master's degree in 1927, amassing property in her own name, and in general living "ahead of her time" as a woman. Facing countless challenges along the way, her life is an amazing story of courage, pluck, and…See More

1812: The New Brunswick Story at the New Brunswick Museum at New Brunswick Museum, 1 Market Square, Saint John, NB, E2L4Z6

May 27, 2015 at 9am to May 31, 2015 at 5pm
On June 18, 1812 the United States declared war on Britain and placed His Majesty’s colonies in British North America (now Canada) in peril. The United States, on the other hand, felt their young independence threatened by a British embargo on American trade with France, the seizure of British deserters on U.S. vessels at sea and action to prevent American westward expansion. The war…See More

May 27, 2015 at 9am to May 31, 2015 at 5pm
New Brunswick was created out of the western portion of Nova Scotia in 1784 as a result of the American War of Independence. Many had opposed rebellion. More than 500,000 of these Tories or Loyalists existed at one time or another but most chose to remain part of American society. For others, at least 60,000, exile was the only alternative. In 1783, over 30,000 boarded vessels in New York for Nova Scotia and nearly half of these came to what is now New Brunswick in spring, summer and fall…See More
