Rock IT

Classes start: Monday, July 26 Ends: Friday, August 6
Final Performance: Saturday, August 7 at 7 p.m.

Rock IT offers aspiring rock musicians ages 13 to 18 professional education in a structured and creative environment with some of the industry’s leading indie artists, including Chuck Teed, Malcolm Boyce and Jason Vautour. Rock IT focuses on refining guitar, bass, drum and vocal skills, instrument techniques and methodology, and most importantly how to work and play with a band. Cost: $350.

Classes run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, with drop off available from 8:15 a.m. and pickup until 5:30 p.m.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

This special mixed media course will guide students through the process of creating multimedia masterpieces. Using a combination of collage technique and painting, participants will be taught how to use acrylic gel medium to transfer images to canvas and then work the image with a variety of mediums including acrylic paint and charcoal to create a beautiful piece of art. They can have fun while learning new techniques, using gesso and new materials and combinations. Participants will use stencils & simple printing methods.

Dance IT provides high-quality dance instruction by respected professional dancers. Students ages 6 to 18, assigned to groups based on skill level, will participate in an intensive program under the direction of Sylvia Logan, Royal Academy of Dance teacher and Artistic Director of Rothesay Ballet School. Joining her are well-known local teacher Rachelle Lanigan (Junior and Senior Ballet), international performer Maria Osende (Flamenco) and two native New Brunswickers who have gone on to great success and are returning to share their knowledge — Darryl Tracy (Contemporary/Modern) and Aarik Wells (Senior Ballet). Cost: $375

Classes run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, with drop off available from 8:15 a.m. and pickup until 5:30 p.m.
