During the 1840's, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada was oppressed by the ongoing turmoils between the Irish Catholic and Protestant population. The people of Saint John were haunted by the many clashes that occurred in their streets. On July 12, 1849, Saint John's worst riot of the 19th century took place. This would become known as the York Point Riot.
This is the continuation of my story entitled A Maritime Tale. Chapter 1 has been available for viewing on YouTube since May 2011 and has been seen by people all over the world. It has captivated the hearts of Saint John locals. In Chapter 1 we began in Ireland in 1847 during the Great Famine, when a young boy named Liam, his loyal dog Murphy, and his parents had to leave their home and come to British North America. They landed on Partridge Island which was the quarantine station for all the sick immigrants. In the end, Liam and Murphy are left to fend for themselves in the New World. At the very end of Chapter 1, we meet a gentle and pretty English girl named Charlotte.
This is my longest production to date and has taken me months of research and hard work. I have poured my heart and soul into this project. Chapter 3 is scheduled to be released in Summer 2012. Local historian, Harold E. Wright has worked with me closely on this project as he did with Chapter 1.
Plans for a book are in the works.
